I know you may feel like you are scrolling down forever, but I can't think of a better way to show you my work than tonnes and tonnes of pictures. Flowers are so visual so pictures really help. Enjoy! :)
A little look at last nights home for the holiday tour :)
This client wanted to add wheat as an accent throughout her wedding. We used it in the boutonnières as well.
Fun branchy centerpieces at the Timberhouse in Brighton.
A cute fall pomander for a little flower girl :)
Here is an example of something that I don't often show. I love to create my own bouquets but there is nothing wrong with copying something that you absolutly love. I can do that as well. A client found this picture and I recreated it (without the hot peppers..lol!)
Just a quick note to say that next year is booking up faster than any year gone by....call or e-mail anytime to set up your consultation or to book your date :) Happy winter planning!! :)
Love this one, can you seen the little bird :)
And here are her centerpieces, totally wild
I little close up, these balls are called Scabiosa and add tonnes of cool texture.
Here are a few shots of some work we have done this summer......I wish I was better at remembering to take photos of every wedding, but I will try to get better :)
Just a few shots from this weekends bridal show. Enjoy!
Sheer wrap with rhinestone pins....simple and pretty.
This is a little "bag of blooms" I did up for the Belleville Skating Club...I thought they turned out cute.
I found this shot that I completely forgot to post a long time ago. I love the tropical feel, and it is such a cost effective way to do flowers. The rocks are candles in this case, but they could just be river rocks and give the same effect.
I love seeded eucalyptus.....such a great shade of green!
A spring combo of colours :)
Frilly red roses with just simple grasses.....love it!
Orchids are grown in such beautiful colours.....hard to believe they are real.

Ramada Inn Bridal Show 2009

Well, despite the crummy weather, the Ramada show was packed full of eager brides, and I had a great time meeting and chatting with many of you. The same thing goes for this show as the others, if I didn`t mangage to speek with you, or if you have any questions, please call or e-mail anytime and you can come in and sit down and chat without all of the hustle and bustle around you. Not to sound too cliche, but thanks for a fun show and I know 2009 and 2010 weddings will be some of the most unique and fun yet!

Banquet Center Bridal Show 09'

Thanks to all of the girls who I saw at the bridal show! It was a great show and I hope you all had fun. It seemed to be a bit congested so I hope I could answer questions and things without being to crazy. Anyway here are some of the things I had at the show and feel free to call antime and make an appointment to come in and chat. P.S. Check out the new shop http://www.runwaybridal.ca/ too! :)

Visit our new location and Bridal Boutique!!

Just to let everyone know: We are so busy and have loved our space at the barn, but we have just outgrown it! We have moved to Belleville . Everything is the same...just our location has changed(don't worry brides!). We will be still serving Prince Edward County of course!! We love the county and Stephanie the owner still resides in Bloomfield and would never want to loose her county customers. But, Belleville has become so busy with weddings and events, the move was inevitable. Anyway, we are totally excited to be serving everyone from our new great location at 397 Front St. right beside "The Penguin". We have tonnes of free parking in behind the building and a great new shop. Check out our newest addition to the shop - http://www.runwaybridal.ca/ - a brand new bridal boutique!! We offer gowns, bridesmaids, tux rentals, and of course all of the accessories . For all of the info just check out the new website...young fresh and fun...all brand new 2009 dresses, no more sifting through gowns from years ago!! Watch for lots more to come! Here are a couple of shots from a really fun wedding I did at the barn! Thanks Kailey!!!!

Thanks Photojenic-Photography.com for the awesome shots!!!!

Orchids orchids everywhere!

White catalaya orchid blooms are so feathery and delicate.......rare and beautiful.....this was the 1st time I used them in a bridal bouquet. Little jewels and the right ribbon can make a white bouquet really show against your gown. Soft buttery yellows was the request......so soft and beautiful.

Bridal Bouquets and other pretty things!

Notice the limes in the vase......something fun. Me and white hydrangea.....we get along so well........ A big urn arrangement for the front of the ceremony site...church or no church....it is nice to have something to mark the ceremony spot. All gerbera daisy bouquets are simple and inexpensive...
Yellow is so under used these days......it is happy and fun.....and almost every flower comes in shades of yellow. If you are lucky enough to be getting married in May/June you are one of the luck few who can have peonies as a lush and beautiful affordable option. Although I can get most flowers 365 days a year....you will have to pay a price, so it is much easier to choose something that is basically in season. A flower girl pomander.....fluffy and sweet. Centerpieces are always lined up like little soldiers.....waiting for their big moment. (Ok I am way too into this eh!!)
I rent out vintage mason jars to use for centerpieces.....vintage flavour for less!! I little silver julip cup makes great little arrangements....so classic. Love em'! Soft pinks and whites......almost springy really! hmmm.....can't get this to turn around, but you get the idea......the green pail is for transport....the clear glass vase inside is much more elegant. Dahlias are my favourite flower of all time......the colours are fantastic. These are all grown on Wolf Island and I go to the ferry each week and had choose which ones to use. I dahlia wreath to be hung on a tree. Each of these flowers are about 8" wide....WOW!!! Lime, pink and purple.....how cool! I am always fussing.....so they say! Green orchids make a real statement with these cream roses and callas All white calla lilies.....very elegant, and the rhinestones are a favourite of many brides. Bridesmaids with 3 large callas and funky leaves. A teardrop shaped bouquet.....I don't do them often, but it is a very cute shape. Hydrangea, roses and tulips......notice how different shades of a colour always work well together rather that trying to stick to a specific colour. Another bridal bouquet......
Callas and hydrangea for the hotel room.....what a nice gesture from the parents. A little flower girl pot The beginnings of large urn arrangements for the church.....they stand about 6ft high when they are placed in the urns. A great way to add some punch at the church and then re-use them at the reception....at the doors or on either end of the head table. A funky little combo....snap dragons don't always have to look old fashioned, see....

Just a few more pics......I will post them as I get them from brides this summer!

Here is a great shot of our delivery driver "George"......He is fantastic, and very cautious with his driving to be sure that every flower makes it to its destination in perfect condition!

A few more ideas to add.

"Ramada Inn Bridal Show 2008"

I participated in the Belleville Ramada Inn Bridal Show yesterday along with about 30 other vendors. It was great fun and I want to thank everyone who stopped to have a look and a chat. These pictures are of the designs I had at the show, so if you saw something you liked you can print it off or show it to friends. Of course keep in mind that these are just a smattering of some of the more popular things that brides are looking for, but we can do anything from highly exotic to very simple. The options are endless. We provide full bridal floral services (as well as everyday services) and delivery from Gananoque to Toronto. From bouquets to altar pieces and centerpieces.....we frankly....do it all!! Call anytime to set up a complimentary consultation and get a quote on the spot. I don't like to seem pushy, but the dates do book up quickly so, to avoid dissapointment, if you are planning for 2008, the sooner the better. Well, that's my little "schpeal" so have a great week!!

"Tags and Treasures"

Here are a couple of shots from the shop. I love these little cards we use on every arrangement. They are so cheery and seem to always match the arrangements just perfectly. Right now we have just received our first shipment of pussy willow trees for spring. They are the perfect gift for that person with everyone and then they can be planted outside later in spring. I love them in the vintage tin ceiling tile planters.
Great new "Canadian Grown" mini orchids.
An example of our packaging.

"2008 Belleville Banquet Center Bridal Show"

Here are some shots of things we had on display at the show. Hope to see everyone at the Ramada Inn show this coming Sunday Jan 20th from 12-5.
Bouquets can easily double as arrangements on the head table. You can hardly tell this is a bridal bouquet and why spend they money twice. I don't know anyone who doesn't like a bit of sparkle and by adding these rhinestones to each rose you can coordinate with the beading on you dress. A mini orchid plant would make a great centerpiece if you are not worried about a bit of height on your tables. The guests will fight over theses for sure
The addition of real fruit like this pomegranate or the limes pictured above, gives a centerpiece another unique touch. My favourite bouquet of the show. A small all tulip bouquet with great leaves around the edge. So cute!

"Brides from the Banquet Center Bridal Show"

For everyone who has rushed home to type in redbarnfloraldesign.com......ok maybe not rushed but......I hope you find some useful pictures here and I will post pictures of the work that was at the show tomorrow so you can use it for reference. Thank you so much for all of the positive comments and feel free to call and check if your date is still available and set up a consultation....they are always complimentary.....as many as you need :) Happy Planning.

"I just love this picture"

Not much to say except I love this shot. Thanks Lauren!!

"A Personal Touch"

This bride choose to give each of her bridesmaids bouquets a personal touch with an initial made of Swarovski crystals incorporated into the bouquet itself. How cool! The girls loved them, and they had a great keepsake afterward. This bride left it all up to us.....make it pink and funky....were are instructions. Because the bridesmaids were wearing black, various shades of pink were a great option. Trying to match a specific shade of anything can easily result in disappointment. So, why bother? Use various shades of the same color to add a bit of interest. Monochromatic is definitely "IN" why not try it.

"White and Black....very chic"

An all black and white wedding with a dark rich green accent was the wish of this bride and she reached that goal without question. All white flowers were what she chose, but the texture was far from boring. Amaryllis (traditionally thought of as a Christmas bulb plant) were used in her bouquets and they were very lush and beautiful. LOVE LOVE LOVE cut amaryllis!!!

"Don't be afraid of colour"

Don't be afraid to use colour in your wedding flowers. This bride chose hot pink and bright tangerine with a splash of lime green.......so fun!! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

"More Wedding Work"

Here are a few more shots of wedding work from 2007. There are a few of packaging and things that just give you an idea of our style here. Please join us this Sunday at the Belleville Banquet Center for the 1st wedding show of the year. I will have lots of samples and pictures for you to see and of course as always we offer complimentary consultations......as many as you like!

"1st wedding of 2008"

With my first wedding of 2008 going out the door today I thought to myself what could have been more appropriate than all white roses with this blanket of crisp white snow. A simple all rose bouquet is just the right combination of tradition and modern style. The addition of these rhinestone centers just gives this bouquet that bit of sparkle it needs to stand out from the rest. To everyone who's resolution involves wedding planning.......call the shop and make an appointment and cross one thing off of your list. This shot is the bouquet before all of the finishing touches have been added like ribbon and pearls etc. The sign of a true European hand tied bouquet is the spiraled stems which bind together and hold the whole thing firmly in place.

"Valentines Day Is On It's Way"

In the next few days I will be posting my Valentines Promotions and creative ideas. The will be a lot more than just roses that's for sure. How about sending 50 fresh tulips for the same price as 12 - 70cm long stemmed Ecuadorian roses. 12 or 50.....what do you think would be most impressive....HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

"YOU ARE NOT TOO LATE! "

We still have three more full days of delivery and lots of fresh product that we will magically work into a festive creation for anyone on your list! The window ornaments that are pictured below are already on sale for 50% off and would make a great gift as well. Large and small in both red and white. LARGE :REG $13.99 SALE $6.99 SMALL: REG $9.99 SALE $4.99 Have 1/2 a dozen delivered in different sizes and colours and make a great unique statement :)

"Only 11 days till' Christmas"

Wreaths are a great gift for the holidays as they can be used year after year. Have one delivered to a friend or family member with a door hook and all so they can put it up right away. "Almost Grinch Tree" Wed.Dec.12th

Here is one of our most popular "Plant" gifts. A mini Cyprus tree in a pot that you can plant outside in the spring. Decorated with crimped wire and a single little ball on the top. $16.99-$24.99 depending on the pot. So cute for anyone on your list.

"More Wedding Pictures"

Here are a few more pictures of wedding work that we have done. Enjoy! All red roses with green trachilium Red and black; very dramatic Pink pink pink! Tropical centerpiece We can take care of set up and chair covers for you as well. Notice the garland at the front; a simple addition that will dress up any setting.
Monochromatic bouquets make the best statement especially if you don't have a huge budget. This pale orange bouquet has roses, dahlias and protea. Mini sumflowers add a great punch of colour. And, they aren't just a fall flower. Swarovski crystal initials in each bouquet.....a great little added touch!
A single calla lily is sometimes all you need for a bridesmaid or flower girl. Green pomanders line the isle. Theses are made with lime green button mums, but you can use almost any flower that co-ordinates with your colour scheme. Fun and Funky!! A large urn arrangement for the ceremony. I always recommend re-using as much as you can and these flowers were taken to the reception after and used at the head table.

"A Funeral arrangement doesn't have to look like a funeral arrangement"

Here is a tasteful low funeral arrangement. Something low and lush is always nice, and seems to be often taken to someones home after the services. People prefer to take the flowers home that don't look like they have just come from the funeral home, and it is always nice to know that the flowers will be enjoyed afterward. Hydrangea, roses, spider mums, and hypericum berries in a black tin urn. Available at 3 price levels $50 - $65 - $85

"Everyone Loves a Hostess Gift"

Here are a couple of little hostess gift ideas that anyone would love. Something a little different than the ol' bottle of wine! We do many different things from $10 and up call for more ideas! A single Ecuadorian rose with berries and fun greenery in a leafed dish (red or gold) $11.99 I'm going to have to figure our how to take pictures without my hand in them :( A mini Cyprus tree that you can plant outside in the spring. $27.99 potted and decorated

"Our New Website"

Hello web world! Today is the first day we are live with this new site so I hope you enjoy! There are many many many more pictures to come. But here's the idea. What is fresh today is pictured below. Please call if you have any questions. I hope to have Christmas samples posted by this afternoon. Acapulco Gerbera Blue Delphinium Large Poinsettia's
"Freedom" long stemmed Ecuadorian roses A bit of the cooler
Hypericum Berries
Rose hips
Gerbera Daisies
"Sweet Unique" Long stemmed Ecuadorian roses

"I think we will make it an annual thing."

This year we held our first Christmas open house. It was fabulous, not just because of the shop's magical feel but more because of the support I received from some of my regular customers as well as many new customers that made time in their busy day to stop in to say "Hi!". A bit of mulled warm cider and a Lakeshore Farms fresh doughnut goes a long way in making a fun day. Watch for the invitations next year so you too can come and enjoy a bit of inspiration from our place to yours!

"Have a Happy Holiday...even if you don't really want to"

Well, the holiday season has come fast and chilly. No doubt the Christmas music (that is pumped in loud and clear the day after Halloween) has had you humming a merry tune or maybe not. I know not everyone is into the holiday spirit of things like me, but please; for the benefit everyone around you (co-workers, family, and friends) just try your hardest to have a happy holiday season. And send someone flowers....even if it's yourself. They are scientifically proven to make people smile :)

"A casket spray can, and should be unique."

During such a difficult time as a funeral it can seem overwhelming with the number of decisions that need to be made in such a short time. We have a comfortable place where you and your family or friends can sit. We can help you what flowers would be most appropriate to ad to the top of a casket or around an urn. These flowers can often help to show personality traits or favourite things from your loved one. We are also happy to make these arrangements over the phone if that is easier. Please call if you have any questions at all.

"Wedding planning in full force"

I realize that this is a busy time of year for all and especially so for the brides and grooms to be in 2008. I am happy to meet for consultations early in the morning or in the evening 7 days a week.....whatever fits into your schedules. Dates for 2008 are booking quick so don't hesitate to call just to do a quick check if your date is still available. Happy Planning and Happy Holidays to all!! An all rose bouquet with pearl centers, classic and elegant. Something a bit more textural, which I think is so important. This bouquet has orchids, hypericum berries, pincushion protea, leucadendron, and roses.
A favourite with many brides, mini calla lilies, roses and my favourite dahlias!
Fall tones don't have to be just red orange and yellow. This bouquet of rusts and burgundy is very rich and would make a great "fall" bouquet. Think a bit outside the ordinary and your guests will notice!

"A snowy Sunday"

The fields around the shop are covered with a bright white blanket of snow today. I figure, what better day to try to get this web site well on its way. I feel very out of my element of roses and greenery on this technical adventure, but I am beginning to like it. As of next weekend we will be beginning our winter hours until further notice. We will be closed on Sunday's but in the event that someone needs something delivered on a Sunday we would be happy to accommodate. Well, stay warm and cozy today and drive safe!

"My First Picture"

This is my first upload attempt, an arrangement from Thanksgiving. I just love Dahlias, and I am already dreaming of next August so I can enjoy the multicoloured varieties I buy from a local grower on Wolfe Island !

"A Virtual Flower Shop"

Well, here is my first attempt at blogging....My idea is to post pictures of what is fresh daily, so you the "Customer" can experience my floral designs from the comfort of your comfy computer chair. So essentially it will be a "Virtual Flower Shop" of sorts. But bare with me, I am still a newbie. Enjoy! Oh and P.S. there will be lots of pictures of wedding work to come! Have a great weekend everyone!
